The theory is delicious and when it occurs in reality it is addictive beyond imagination, another reason why chemical ingestion is so prevalent, searching and grasping for that high of constant equilibrium.
One of the many reasons the philosophy of Buddhism appeals is its reach for peace of mind. Not from outside stimuli or pharmaceutical drugs, from within self, within the within, those deep fold valleys and eddies of the mind, set within the universal interconnectedness of grey matter with all matter. Formal meditation can be a bitch for the beginner novice and fidgety of limb and mind. Of course it’s not easy; it’s the striving to be easy, that’s the beginning, that’s the point. Informal meditation can be a much more gentle ease in, everyone does it without knowing. Those moments of total immersion, of focused oneness with a thing or activity that slows you down, loses you in its comfortable timeless. But it’s the time thing, finding that space of time in an ever increasing human made madness. The reality of being is difficult enough now; illusion of speed fabricated or not has conditioned our species to accept it as a reality. With suicide and stimuli addiction at epidemic levels, peace of mind is a rare commodity, ripe for the pickings of all manner of new age gurus soothsayers and charlatans. A whole industry is clamouring to band aid the pieces of your broken mind with cleansing chants tantric poses and organic oaths. Paying for getting what you pay for goes so much deeper than money driven ego economics. No one can teach you where peace of your individual mind originates at, emanates from and ultimately presents to the world in reflected emotion. You can be guided, hopefully genuinely. You can be shaped, hopefully with compassion and as close to altruism as is humanly possible. Taken and not left adrift with an empty bank account and even emptier psyche and soul. Or you can find your own way, not alone but with those who resonate with you, vibrate on a similar energy, nourish your soul. They and those are rare and they are not all in human form, most are not. Unless you’re a full blown fulltime practitioner in the art of mind control, then your aim is to find pockets of peace. How deep those pockets are, is simply up down and every which way on you and you alone. It’s always a good time to start finding your peace, your way.
