Health care is every ones responsibility, absolutely no argument right there. It is imperative that each and every individual take care of themselves, making sure as far as possible to maintain and service the biological machine and fickle mind, to ably function at its optimum level.
However, in these brutal times of creeping capitalism, where user pay is the basis of feeding the rich and starving the poor, one really must question a system that leaves a mass of suffering on the shit pile of economic rationalism. Teeth and gums are one of the major elements in the machine, with endless studies proving they are vitally important for health and well-being. For anyone who has suffered oral pain, it is openly a no match competition in respect to the level of discomfort on the open ended excruciator. Universal free care for the health of a nations citizens, is of course a laughable fantasy, outlandish in the extreme. That would require a full intensive examination of the present system, a probing invasive procedure, a scaling back from years of built up layers, capping were required, extractions were necessary, bridge building, cleaning, polishing, and a veneer of empathy here and there. Expecting politicians to give up their well-earned free health care perks and trusting they will change their behaviour, let alone their minds, when it comes to universal dental care for their millions of employers. Well, that’s like inviting a gum diseased toothless toddler to your rich birthday party and laughing at them as you serve them gristle and grits. They just don’t get it, because they just don’t care.
